Erdogan, Prabowo discuss trade, defense, COP31 invitation

Jakarta (ANTARA) - Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan spoke by phone with Indonesian President Prabowo Subianto to discuss strengthening trade and defense-industry cooperation, and invited him to attend the COP31 Leaders' Summit.

According to a statement from the Republic of Turkiye Directorate of Communications on Monday, Erdogan welcomed the two countries' solidarity on international platforms and said maintaining it would benefit both.

The two leaders discussed Indonesia-Türkiye bilateral relations as well as regional and global issues.

Their talks focused particularly on strengthening cooperation in trade and the defense industry.

Erdogan stressed the importance of expanding cooperation in those areas and said the two countries would continue taking steps to that end.

The defense industry remains a key area of cooperation between the two countries.

Erdogan also directly invited Prabowo to attend the COP31 Leaders' Summit in Antalya.

The two leaders' discussion underscored their continued efforts to strengthen bilateral cooperation in trade and defense.
