Harriet Dart won the first WTA tour singles title of her career on Sunday, fighting back to beat Austria’s Lilli Tagger 4-6, 6-3, 6-4 in the Guangzhou Open final.

Britain’s No. 5, ranked 115th in the world and coached by former Wimbledon champion Marion Bartoli, shook off a slow start after losing her serve in the very first game

Dart fought back to level at 4-4 in the opening set, but Tagger broke her straight away and served out the set

Dart earned the first break point of the second set and converted it to lead 5-3, then took the set to force a decider.

The final set swung back and forth, with the two players exchanging five breaks of serve in a row. Dart finally settled, saving two break points to hold for 5-3, and closed out the match to take the title.
