EastEnders' Ian and Elaine make hilarious mistake as romance plot resumes

Ian and Elaine had a private moment together in EastEnders, or so they thought.
This week in Albert Square, Ned gave Ian the idea of hosting a fireworks display in the Square on Bonfire Night, and he managed to get his son Ryder a job helping Ian out.
As Bonfire Night approached, Ian discovered the fireworks he received from Ryder were out of date and could not be used.

Thinking he may have to call the fireworks display off, Peter suggested he ask Elaine for some of hers, but she swiftly declined.
All hope was not lost though, as Ryder and Oscar hatched a plan to steal some of the bar owner’s fireworks without her knowing.
Darkness fell and as the crowds gathered in the Square for the firework display. Elaine, now aware some of her fireworks went missing, approached Ian as he was preparing a speech.
Elaine accused him of stealing the fireworks but, as viewers saw, Ian was none the wiser and denied the accusations.
The pair began arguing as Elaine told Ian to "stop behaving like a councillor". However, Ian could see there was more to this conversation than just fireworks.
“This isn’t about the fireworks,” Ian said, before Elaine snapped back, “it is about fireworks!” Any anger soon subsided as the pair looked into one another’s eyes, and old feelings came back to the surface.
Standing next to a van with speakers inside, they both came up with the same idea – to enjoy some private time together.

As people started to wonder where Ian was, Ryder told Peter to address the crowd. As he reached for the microphone, the speakers picked up what was happening in the van, and the audience members were stunned to hear what was transpiring.
Lauren covered her son Louie’s ears as an embarrassed Peter urged Ryder to set the fireworks off to drown out the disturbing noises coming from his father and Elaine.
Both Ian and Elaine will be horrified when they find out the entire square heard their private moment with one another.
