Popular Kelantan businesswoman gets back RM500K Jeep after renewing road tax

Translate

KOTA BARU: The popular Kelantan businesswoman whose Jeep Wrangler, worth nearly RM500,000, was seized by the Road Transport Department (RTD) has renewed the vehicle's motor vehicle licence.

Kelantan RTD director Mohd Misuari Abdullah said the woman had renewed the licence and paid the road tax early this week.

"After the renewal, she was allowed to take back her Jeep yesterday," he said.

Meanwhile, the woman, in a post on her TikTok account, said she was only a month late in renewing the road tax and denied claims circulating on social media that she had not renewed it since 2014.

"I was only late in paying the road tax by one month, but some people claimed that I had not paid the road tax since 2014.

"I believe there are people who deliberately want to create an issue," she said.

The Jeep Wrangler, estimated to be worth nearly RM500,000, was among 3,790 luxury vehicles seized by the RTD nationwide under Op Luxury.

RTD senior enforcement director Datuk Muhammad Kifli Ma Hassan had previously said the vehicle was seized at Jalan Taman Tengku Anis here about 2.50pm on Sept 24.

He had said the vehicle was seized after it was found to have an expired motor vehicle licence.
