The management of Gombe State Transport Services, popularly known as Gombe Line, has dismissed reports alleging that one of its buses was attacked by armed bandits between Ayere and Kabba, with all passengers reportedly kidnapped.
The management described the report as false, urging members of the public to disregard the rumour and avoid spreading unverified information.
In a press statement on Monday, the Director-General of Gombe State Transport Services, Sani Sabo, said no such incident had been reported involving any vehicle in the agency’s fleet.
“For the avoidance of doubt, no such incident has been reported involving any vehicle in our fleet,” Sabo said.
He urged the public to exercise caution when sharing information, particularly reports concerning security incidents, to prevent the spread of misinformation and unnecessary panic.
