Ahmad Tea marks 40th anniversary with Sencha launch and footballer ambassadorship

Translate

KUALA LUMPUR: Ahmad Tea marked its 40th anniversary with a Ruby Jubilee celebration in Malaysia on Thursday, unveiling its Sencha tea and announcing footballer Antoine Semenyo as its global brand ambassador.

The event looked back on the family-owned British company's beginnings in Southampton, England, and its growth into a business whose products are available in more than 80 markets.

Founded in 1986 by Rahim Afshar and his brothers, Ahmad Tea began with a small family tea shop.

According to the company, the brothers set out to make tea they would be happy to serve in their own home, a principle it says continues to guide the business.

Their range has since grown to include classic British black teas, herbal infusions and other varieties. The introduction of Sencha adds to that range as the company enters its fifth decade.

Consequently, Semenyo's appointment is tied to Ahmad Tea's global 'Preparation Is Everything' campaign, which echoes the importance of preparation, discipline and consistency in achieving excellence.

This philosophy is shared by both the brand and Semenyo, who believe that getting small details right are vital to attaining exceptional results.

The Ruby Jubilee event included a display tracing Ahmad Tea's 40-year history, tea-tasting sessions and a presentation of its products.

Ahmad Tea is represented in Malaysia by Sangla Foods Sdn Bhd, a local food and beverage distributor founded in 1993.
