Democratic Alliance (DA) Johannesburg mayoral candidate Helen Zille has confirmed that she has voted in the 2026 Local Government Elections.

In a post on her Facebook account on Wednesday, Zille said she had voted for the DA on both ballots.

“Good morning, Joburg! I’ve just voted DA on both ballots!” she wrote.

Urged Johannesburg residents to vote

Helen Zille also urged Johannesburg residents to participate in the elections, saying the future of the city was in their hands.

“This is Joburg’s last chance to be rescued and get back onto the path to prosperity. Today, the future of your city is in your hands. Go and vote,” she said.

Zille is the DA’s mayoral candidate in Johannesburg, where voters are choosing their ward representatives and political parties to govern the city.
