As Kid Cudi prepares to unveil his feature debut Doe, he’s hitting the ground running with his directing career.

On Saturday, the 2x Grammy winner (whose real name is Scott Mescudi) not only teased Doe, but also details about his directorial followup, which he begins filming “in a few weeks.”

“I shoot my next film in a few weeks and I’m so fuckin hyped,” he wrote on X. “Sometimes I cant believe this is all happening. Officially a filmmaker. Get ready. Next year we introduce em to writer/director Cud.”

Cudi added in another post, “Two movies in a year. Both very different from the other. Doe, my directorial debut, will premiere next year, and my next film will premiere in the late summer.”

The writer and director described Doe as “a really intense drama, 24hrs in the life an addict who’s living on the streets in LA.” Production began in Los Angeles back in April, with Cudi also starring in the film alongside Mark Webber, Leah McNamara, Brandon Scott and Brandon Perea. Cudi is also recording original songs for the movie.

And my next film, is a horror/thriller. Lot of laughs, but its fuckin gnarly. I am a firm believer in mixing horror with comedy. So I incorporated that into it.
