India’s Naorem Roshibina Devi beat Macau’s Man Sin Chu in the women’s 60kg wushu quarterfinal at the Asian Games 2026 in Aichi Prefectural Martial Arts Hall on Tuesday.
Roshibina outpowered Sin Chu and won by point difference and is now assured of a medal for the third consecutive Asiad. a
In the semifinal, the Indian athlete will face Indonesia’s Thania Kusumaningtyas, who beat Uzbekistan’s Shakhzoda Azatova in the quarterfinals.
Roshibina was a last-minute replacement in the Indian wushu team, after she replaced Divyanshi Chaudhary because of injury reasons, according to the Wushu Federation.
Divyanshi though, alleged foul play, stating that she was fully fit and alleging she was dropped because of politics. She also alleged that the federation was partial towards Roshibina, who originally finished fourth in the trials and missed the cut.
The controversy eventually died down after Divyanshi accepted the decision and decided to focus on making a comeback.
