Line of Duty and Vera stars to join third and final season of popular BBC comedy as filming begins

BBC comedy Daddy Issues is back for a third and final run, with cameras now rolling in and around Stockport – but further exciting news comes in the announcement of a batch of new guest stars that have been confirmed alongside returning leads Aimee Lou Wood and David Morrissey.
Written by Danielle Ward (Brassic) and made by Fudge Park, the series has followed Gemma (Wood) and her well-meaning but hopeless dad Malcolm (Morrissey) across two seasons, with the pair learning that growing up doesn't stop once you've had a child.
So far, the show has thrown up plenty of unexpected twists for the father and daughter, with living together not really making anything easier. Alas, the unpredictability is set to continue in the last season of Daddy Issues, which sees a fresh crop of stars joining the mix.

The newly announced guest cast is led by Neil Morrissey, familiar to Line of Duty fans, who plays Ellis, a new friend of Malcolm's. He is joined by Sian Gibson, known for Car Share, as Rita's unhinged sister Juno.
Also joining are Anthony Welsh (Bob Marley: One Love) as Gemma's video-game-designer love interest Avery; Shobna Gulati (Coronation Street) as sultry new neighbour Odette; Liam Williams (Everyone Else Burns) as Rita's put-upon boyfriend; Sophie Winkleman (Sanditon) as campsite owner Mary; and Seb Cardinal (Cardinal Burns) as the mysterious Silas.
Returning cast include Sarah Hadland as Rita, David Fynn as Derek, Taj Atwal as Cherry and current Celebrity Traitors star Sharon Rooney as Catherine.
The synopsis for the new run reads: "Eighteen months on, Gemma and Malcolm have settled into their own comfortable rhythm. Sadie is thriving at nursery, and Gemma has been promoted at the salon, but after two weeks away she returns to find Malcolm has lost his keys, the flat has sprung a leak and the police are at the door.
"So much for having everything under control. It doesn't take long for 'old Gemma' to resurface either. A promising new romance leaves her caught in a tangled web of lies, and there's only one person she can turn to: Malcolm, who might finally have become the grown-up she always knew he could be."
It adds: "As father and daughter face new relationships, unexpected surprises and even more outrageous misunderstandings, Daddy Issues continues to find big laughs in the messy realities of family, love and growing up."
As of now, there's no confirmed release date for season 3, but we do know that the new instalment will consist of six episodes and as previously mentioned, filming has kicked off. So, watch this space.
