Big Brother evicts latest housemate - and fans call it "bittersweet"

Big Brother aired the fifth eviction of the season tonight (16 October), as Rob, Yasmin and Twinks faced the public vote. Ultimately, Rob's time on the show came to an end, and he was kicked out of the house.
The live eviction was branded "bittersweet" by fans on X, who claimed it was "for the best". They pointed out how Rob had been at the centre of some drama in recent episodes, with many feeling that he was unfairly targeted.
"For his own sanity and mental wellbeing, Rob was the right decision unfortunately," wrote one user, while another said: "I'm kind of glad it's Rob for his sake. He needs to get out and away from the toxic people."

"happy rob is leaving ibsr, nobody's mental [health] could hack it for that long," agreed a third, with a fourth posting: "Rob leaving is probably for the best, he's not built right for it."
A fifth added: "rob being evicted is so bittersweet. like one part of me thinks he didn't deserve to go, but the other half is glad he's away from that hostility from the other housemates."
Meanwhile, other viewers noted how this was the first male eviction of the season, with many considering it to be long overdue.
"Gutted for Rob but finally a guy has been evicted. The curse has been lifted," said one, while a second added: "About time a bloody bloke went!! Phillip next."
Following his elimination, Rob also seemed glad to be out of the house, as he mentioned the rising tensions this week. In a post-exit interview with AJ Odudu and Will Best, he said: "I can't lie, in some ways it's a little bit of a relief because it was getting hot in there."

Despite this, he brushed off the ongoing spats with his fellow housemates, which began with his frequent singing and dancing, noting: "At least I made an impact. At least they didn't shut me up and they never would.
"I'm not going to change just because my housemates are going, 'oh he sings too loud.' It's like, deal with it! There's always been a sassy Rob who has lived somewhere within me and this experience brought him out. And maybe Sassy Rob will never go away. Who knows?"
