2026 has been huge for TOMORROW X TOGETHER. The South Korean boy band, who formed in 2019, celebrated their seventh year together with 7TH YEAR: A Moment of Stillness in the Thorns. Not only did it debut at No. 3 on the Billboard 200, but it became their ninth No. 1 on the Top Album Sales Chart.

When TXT hit the 2026 TMElive International Music Awards (Aug. 22-23) in Hong Kong for a headlining performance, Billboard caught up with the five-member band backstage to talk about their journey over the years.

“When we debuted, we tried to show a boy’s growth narrative, but starting from our last album (7TH YEAR: A Moment of Stillness in the Thorns), I think we’ve been trying to capture more of our own story. We tried to convey what TXT is like in reality in the album,” Hueningkai told Billboard, speaking in Korean via a translator.

“Whether it’s working on music or something else, I always try to do something. I try to attempt new things,” Hueningkai added when asked about staying creative. “While sitting my place, I also think a lot about what kind of song I should write.”

Aside from performing tracks like “I’ll See You There Tomorrow” at the second annual TMElive International Music Awards, the Bit Hit Entertainment group shouted out some of their favorite Hong Kong foods, including egg tarts and wonton noodles.

“The longer we spend time together, the more I realize every time that our members are really cool people,” added Beomgyu. “It feels very reassuring to be together.”
