‘Line of Fire’ Gets Full 18-Episode Season Order at NBC

“Line of Fire” has been given a full 18-episode season order at NBC.

The freshman action thriller series is one of the fall season’s breakout hits, with NBC’s best delayed-viewing lift in more than three years.

Initially slated for 13 episodes, NBC gave a back order to five additional scripts with the hope of extending the season as a result of sustained viewership. Now, the first season is officially getting 18 total episodes and will extend into 2027.

“Line of Fire” follows a family of agents from various branches of federal law enforcement who find themselves tangled in a deadly conspiracy. They bridge personal differences and cross professional boundaries “as they tackle cases for the FBI, US Marshals, Secret Service and Department of Justice,” per the logline. “After a seemingly cut-and-dry case turns into a deadly conspiracy, they must use the expertise from a lifetime of protecting civilians and politicians to protect one another and bring the killer to justice … even if it means betraying their sworn code.”

Peter Krause stars in the series alongside Hope Davis, Kat Cunning, Tommy O’Brien, Taylor Bloom and Charlie Barnett. Creator and writer Joshua Safran executive produces with Jenna Bush Hager and Ben Spector. The series is produced by Universal Television, a division of Universal Studio Group.

“Line of Fire” airs on Mondays at 10 p.m. and streams the next day on Peacock.

Variety TV critic Aramide Tinubu praised the show in her review, saying it “has all the makings of becoming a classic in the canon of beloved police procedurals.”
