Brittany Mahomes did not hold back after the Kansas City Chiefs lost 28-24 to the Denver Broncos on Sunday, November 1. Kansas City had led by 11 points in the fourth quarter. Then Harrison Butker missed a 54-yard field goal, Denver scored, and a possible game-winning touchdown from Patrick Mahomes to Rashee Rice was wiped out by a penalty on Jaylon Moore as time expired. Brittany, the quarterback's wife, used Instagram Stories to call it the weakest call she had ever seen. Andy Reid said he never saw the foul that ended it.

The ending was messy long before the flag. With 2:36 left, Reid sent Butker out for a 54-yard try on fourth down. It sailed wide right, and Denver got the ball in good field position. Rookie running back Jonah Coleman did the rest, taking a catch 51 yards into the end zone.
Mahomes still had one drive left. He moved Kansas City into the red zone and seemed to hit Rice for the winner as the clock ran out. Then came the holding flag on Moore. No touchdown.
Brittany posted her reaction once the game ended. “You can't tell me you call that on a game winning TD, oh wait yeah I can cause it's us. That was the weakest call I have ever seen, you can't tell me otherwise.”
Reid was asked about the final penalty. “I didn't see it,” Reid said. “I saw him move his head, but I didn't see [a false start].”
Discipline was a bigger issue. Kansas City was flagged 11 times for 105 yards. Denver had six penalties for 45 yards.
Chiefs drop to second in AFC West before Jets game
The loss shakes up the AFC West. Denver now leads the division at 6-2, while Kansas City slips to second at 5-2.
Mahomes threw for 321 yards and three touchdowns with no interceptions, yet he blamed penalties and miscommunication on offense. “Yeah, obviously penalties, some miscommunications between me and the receivers and running backs and stuff like that,” Mahomes admitted. “Just in general, the execution wasn't at a high enough level.
“We made big plays and we made plays happen against a really good defense. But whenever you're playing a team like that in the division you've got to execute for the full 60 minutes, and we weren't able to do that.”
Next up are the New York Jets (2-6) at Arrowhead Stadium in Week 9.
