Katey Sagal Returns to Fox in a Recurring Role on ‘Best Medicine’

Translate

Katey Sagal is returning to where it all really began for her: Fox. The actress, who helped launch the Fox network in primetime via “Married … With Children” and later was a key voice on Fox’s animated hit “Futurama” (now on Hulu), will return via a recurring role in the network’s drama “Best Medicine.”

On the show, Sagal will recur as Kathleen Gavin, described as “Louisa’s (Abigail Spencer) estranged mother and the only person in the world who’s not welcome in Port Wenn. Combative, conniving, and always looking out for herself, Kathleen unexpectedly returns to town after a long absence, sending Louisa’s life into chaos. Martin (Josh Charles) quickly discovers there’s a reason why the people of Port Wenn refer to her as ‘Shady Katie.’”

Sagal will start her appearances on episodes set to air later this season.

Sagal’s recent credits include “One Piece,” “The Abandons,” “The Conners” and “Rebel.” She won a Golden Globe for “Sons of Anarchy” and earlier starred in the sitcoms “8 Simple Rules” and “Married … With Children.” Next up, Sagal will be seen in the Apple TV comedy “She’s Fine.”

Her film résumé includes “Trust,” “Bleed for This,” “Pitch Perfect 2” and “The Good Mother.” As a singer, she has released the albums “Well” and “Room.” And her book “Grace Notes: My Recollections” was published in 2017 by Simon and Schuster.
