The Legend Of Zelda Officially Returns To The Wilds Era October 2026

The Legend of Zelda has been celebrating its 40th anniversary all year long, and while older games have certainly gotten a good bit of attention, the franchise's iconic Wilds era is still getting plenty of love too. In fact, a number of new releases focused on Breath of the Wild will be launching in October, and there's a little something for everyone here.

Beginning on October 2, 2026, new merchandise for The Legend of Zelda will be available at Animate stores. The announcement, which was shared by Nintendo earlier today, says there are "approximately 70 different original products available." While the new items span various games, there's quite a bit that's focused on Breath of the Wild and its sequel, Tears of the Kingdom. A solid number of those products have been officially revealed now.

First and foremost are the new "Aurora Acrylic Stand" figures, which include those of characters from both Breath of the Wild and Tears of the Kingdom. Priced at 2,200 yen each (around $13.95 in USD) with tax included, there are 6 characters to choose from that were featured in Breath of the Wild, which you can view above.

There are a total of 9 characters from Tears of the Kingdom that you can choose from, including Ganondorf and King Rauru. All 15 figures "feature an aurora-effect finish," according to the translated listing, "causing the colors to change depending on the viewing angle."

If acrylic figures aren't your thing, there's also some freebies related to The Legend of Zelda | Animate Fair that kicks off on October 2. For every 5,500 yen (around $34.95) spent on eligible products, you will receive a set of bookmarks. There are two sets available, one featuring characters from Breath of the Wild and another featuring characters from Tears of the Kingdom. Both sets contain six bookmarks in total. The full collection of all 12 bookmarks can be viewed above.

That's not all for the Wilds-era releases at Animate in October. A few posters from both games are available, as are a nail stickers series. Both of those collections feature items and motifs from all Zelda games, though. Last but not least, there are Korak curtains with Korak curtain tassels.

"These curtains feature a textile pattern adorned with motifs from The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild," reads the official description, "and a Korok-shaped tassel that neatly holds the curtains back." Other items, including lip balm cases and accessory pouches, will also feature that pattern and can be purchased separately.

Both Breath of the Wild and Tears of the Kingdom are considered modern-day masterpieces, so it's great to see both games getting some extra attention for the series' 40th anniversary. And no matter which game in The Legend of Zelda franchise is your favorite, it looks like you'll have some cool merch to choose from. For now, these items are only sold nationwide in Japan at Animate storefronts, but we'll hopefully get at least a few of them in the U.S. soon.
