ORA Iraq Signs Contract with CRC Dorra for Phase One Construction of Madinat Al Ward
CRC Dorra has been awarded the construction works for Phase One of Madinat Al Ward, ORA’s urban development in Iraq. ORA Iraq signed the contract in the presence of Eng. Naguib Sawiris, Chairman of ORA, and Eng. Mohamed Dorra, Vice Chairman of Dorra Group, ORA announced from Cairo.
The signing marks another step forward in the project’s development. ORA has described it as part of its commitment to partnering with leading contractors with international expertise to realise its vision for urban development in Iraq.
CRC Dorra and Dorra Group
CRC Dorra is the contracting arm of Dorra Group, which was established in 1943 and has more than 80 years of experience in engineering and construction. The Group operates across several Middle Eastern markets, including Egypt, Saudi Arabia, the United Arab Emirates, Qatar and Iraq. Its expertise covers residential, commercial, office and hospitality developments, along with design-and-build services, supporting its capacity to deliver large-scale, integrated projects.
ORA chose CRC Dorra as part of its approach of selecting leading partners across disciplines based on their track records, technical expertise and delivery capabilities. ORA has also linked the partnership to its commitment to upholding the highest quality standards throughout the development of Madinat Al Ward, bringing the masterplan to life in a way that meets customers’ aspirations.
From Groundworks to Construction
The contract follows the completion of POWERCHINA’s assigned scope of work, which covered earthworks and ground preparation for Phase One. With that work complete, CRC Dorra can now begin construction, building on the progress already achieved on site.
ORA describes the start of construction as a significant milestone in the development of Madinat Al Ward. The company says it reaffirms its long-term commitment to the Iraqi market and its confidence in the country’s potential, as it works towards an integrated community that places quality of life at the heart of its design and development.
