‘The Watcher’ Season 2 Is Coming: Naomi Watts, Bobby Cannavale Returning
Naomi Watts, Bobby Cannavale, Margo Martindale and Isabel Gravitt are all returning for the long-delayed second season of Netflix’s buzzy series from Ryan Murphy and Ian Brennan, which released season one back in 2022.
Production begins this fall in New York, with a premiere date yet to be set.
Brennan recently told The Hollywood Reporter he was writing the second season, as viewers had been waiting for an update on the series for four years. The Watcher spent five weeks on Netflix’s global top 10 English TV list, and hit the Top 10 in more than 90 countries when it released in October 2022. The series was renewed one month later.
Season one followed the Brannock family (played by Watts, Cannavale, Gravitt and Luke David Blum), who moved into what was supposed to be their suburban dream home, and quickly became a living hell when ominous letters from someone calling themself “The Watcher” began to haunt them, and spill the neighborhood’s sinister secrets.
Brennan is showrunner. Murphy, Brennan, Crystle Roberson Dorsey (EP/director), Nissa Diederich, Karl Frankenfield, Scott Robertson, Todd Kubrak, Tanase Popa, Naomi Watts, Henry Joost & Ariel Schulman, Eric Newman & Bryan Unkeless are executive producers.
