Desperados, Young Jonn blend unique sounds in ‘Let It Go’

Lager brand, Desperados, has teamed up with singer, songwriter and record producer, Young Jonn, to release a new track titled, Let It Go, blending Latin music influences with afrobeats in a celebration of self-expression and living in the moment.

The song, produced by Yung Willis, draws inspiration from Guao Guao, a reggaeton track created by Desperados in collaboration with Venezuelan artiste, Micro TDH, and Colombian producer, Ovy On The Drums.

According to a statement shared with Sunday Scoop, the song builds on a sample of the original record, incorporating Latin-inspired sounds into Young Jonn’s distinctive style to create a fusion that reflects the vibrancy of Nigerian music and nightlife.

Yung Willis, whose production credits include works with artistes such as Wizkid, Davido, Kizz Daniel, Falz, Niniola, BNXN, Zlatan and Patoranking, brings his expertise to the project, helping to merge global musical influences with the rhythm of afrobeats.

The statement added that the song seeks to capture spontaneous moments, from nights out to unexpected gatherings with friends, encouraging listeners to embrace freedom and enjoy memorable experiences without overthinking them.

It said, “Young Jonn’s reinterpretation gives the original sound a Nigerian identity rather than simply reproducing it, with the song drawing on the rhythms and movement associated with Afrobeats.

Beyond the music, the collaboration is expected to inspire fan participation through dance moves and lifestyle content, allowing listeners to engage with the song and share their interpretations.”
