Several Trapped As Building Collapses In Delhi Month After Hostel Tragedy

Several people are feared trapped after a five-storey building collapsed in northeast Delhi's Seemapuri area on Wednesday, an official said.
The incident comes a month after a hostel tragedy in Satya Niketan that resulted in the death of seven and injuries to several others.
The Delhi Fire Service (DFS) received a call regarding the collapse at 3.30 pm and rushed fire engines to the spot.
"Search and rescue operation is ongoing," an official said.

Delhi Traffic Police posted on X, urging people to avoid the area as it will allow ambulance and rescue vehicles a faster way through.
"A multi-storey building has collapsed in Seemapuri and rescue teams are working at the site. Traffic is affected around Seemapuri Gol Chakkar, DLF Bhopura and adjoining roads. Every clear lane gives an ambulance and rescue vehicle a faster way through. Please avoid the area if possible. Do not stop, park or gather near the site, and follow the directions of traffic personnel," Delhi Traffic Police said on X.
