Juventus are expected to drop Randal Kolo Muani from the starting line-up when they take on Daniele De Rossi’s Genoa away from home in Serie A on Wednesday evening.

A full round of Serie A fixtures is taking place this midweek, which got off to a flyer on Tuesday night with 18 goals scored across three fixtures for an average of six goals per game: Lazio beat 10-man Sassuolo 6-2 at the Mapei Stadium, Roma rose to a 4-2 victory over Cagliari at the Olimpico, while Cesc Fabregas and Como defeated Torino 3-1 at the Stadio Sinigaglia.

Genoa will host Juventus at the Stadio Luigi Ferraris at 19.45 GMT (20.45 CET) on Thursday evening.

Genoa got back to winning ways over the weekend with a 1-0 victory over Venezia, which ended a run of three consecutive defeats in Serie A.

Juventus were also victorious over the weekend with a 2-0 win away against Lecce on Sunday, which lifted spirits after a 3-0 defeat at home against Lazio the weekend prior.

Spalletti is expected to keep the 3-5-2 that worked well in the first half against Lecce over the weekend. Kolo Muani is likely to come out of the side after scoring just one goal in his eight starts so far in Serie A this season. Nick Woltemade is expected to keep his place and could be joined in attack by Kerim Alajbegovic.

Juventus are still without a long list of injured players including Kenan Yildiz, Francisco Conceicao, Nico Gonzalez, Khephren Thuram, Manuel Locatelli, Zeki Celik, Jeff Ekhator and Kamil Grabara.

This means that Spalletti is unlikely to make too many personnel alterations against Genoa, despite a congested run of fixtures.

Genoa, meanwhile, have a few more options up their sleeves and do not have European football to contend with. Pre-match reports suggest that Daniele De Rossi could even swap formations and deploy a back four, with lots of changes to the side that beat Venezia over the weekend.

Morten Frendrup, Tommaso Baldanzi and Vitinha are among the players that could return to the starting line-up against Juventus.

Genoa (4-2-3-1): Bijlow; Ehizibue, Marcandalli, Ostigard, Vasquez; Frendrup, Amorim; Baldanzi, Vitinha, Ellertsson; Osmajic.

Juventus (3-5-2): Vicario; Gatti, Bremer, Lucumi; Kalulu, McKennie, D.Luiz, Koopmeiners, Cambiaso; Alajbegovic, Woltemade.
