‘Reacher’ Renewed for Season 6 Ahead of Season 5 Premiere

“Reacher” continues its win streak at Amazon, with Prime Video renewing the action series for a sixth season while Season 5 is still in production.

The series, which stars Alan Ritchson in the title role, has been a consistent hit for Amazon since it originally launched in 2022. Amazon says that Season 4 of “Reacher” has already reached 66 million viewers globally within 28 days of its launch on Aug. 12. The eight-episode fourth season aired its finale on Sept. 16.

Per Amazon, Season 4 now ranks among the top five most-viewed seasons of any original series on Prime Video. The show as a whole has reached 200 million viewers worldwide to date. Prime Video also recently released the first season of the “Reacher” spinoff “Neagley” starring Maria Sten.

Season 4 of “Reacher” was based on the Lee Child book “Gone Tomorrow,” which sees Reacher caught in the middle of a deadly game following a chance encounter with a distraught stranger on a subway. Along with Ritchson, the fourth season starred Chris Marquette, Sydelle Noel, Agnez Mo, Anggun, Kevin Weisman, Marc Blucas, Kevin Corrigan, and Kathleen Robertson.

Season 5 is based on the book “Make Me” and is currently shooting in Toronto.

Based on Child’s Jack Reacher novels, the Amazon series is written by Nick Santora, who also serves as executive producer and showrunner. Both Child and Ritchson are executive producers, along with Don Granger, Scott Sullivan, Mick Betancourt, Lisa Kussner, Sam Hill, Amy Pocha & Seth Cohen. Carolyn Harris and Kenny Madrid are the executives-in-charge of the series for Paramount Television Studios. PTVS and Amazon MGM Studios produce.
