EastEnders star admits "very serious" telling-off from show bosses

EastEnders star Lacey Turner has opened up about a time that she received a "very serious" telling off from the soap's bosses in her early days.
The actor first started playing Stacey Slater on the BBC One show in 2004, and in an interview with Heat magazine, reminisced on how both she and co-star Louisa Lytton (Ruby Allen) were a troublesome little pair in their early days.
"Louisa Lytton and I were really mischievous back in the day. On one particular day of filming, we'd had enough," she said.

"When you work on a soap, it's a relentless schedule and we were so exhausted that we ended up with the giggles and couldn't stop. We were sent to the production manager's office for wasting time.
"Only when we got there, during the very serious telling off, Louisa and I kept poking each other in the leg because behind the production manager on the wall was a picture of the two of us dressed up as Peggy and Pat from a Heat photoshoot!
"I don't know how we held it together, we were crying with laughter as soon as we left the room."
Louisa starred on the soap between 2005 and 2006 originally, then came back between 2018 and 2021, before returning yet again across 2024 and 2025. Meanwhile, Lacey originally left EastEnders in 2010, before coming back in 2014 and also leaving in 2025.

She's also been giving multiple interviews while on the promotional trail for her new memoir Gold Dust: My Life (So Far) with the Women Who Shaped Me, which will be released tomorrow.
EastEnders airs on Mondays-Thursdays at 7.30pm on BBC One. The show also streams on BBC iPlayer, where most episodes drop early at 6am ahead of their TV broadcast.
