Harry Styles is commemorating his 30-night stint at Madison Square Garden with a meaningful tribute to the city via a special print edition of The Village Voice.

Published Monday (Nov. 2), the issue features a letter to readers penned by the pop star, whose Together, Together residency in New York City concluded on Saturday (Oct. 31). “It has been an honor to live and work in your city for the past three months,” Styles began, thanking residents for allowing his performances to have “a place in the city’s rich history.”

“I had so much fun with this show, which I think was pretty obvious to anyone who came,” the Grammy winner wrote. “The energy of the audiences, the openness, the dancing, the sheer joy, will never leave me; it altered me. The Village Voice has long been both a creator and unique record of the cultural life of New York City, and it is a privilege to collaborate with the iconic arts paper to tell a bit of the story of 30 nights of Together, Together at Madison Square Garden. It’s not the whole story, of course, but it’s a little piece we can share right now.”

“Until next time, take care of each other, New York,” Styles added.

The special edition also features concert photos and written pieces on the acts serving as openers on the One Direction alum’s trek — including Tinashe, Jamie xx, Caroline Polachek and Lainey Wilson — as well as the Together, Together band, crew and charitable partners such as Planned Parenthood, Food Bank For NYC, HeadCount and Choose Love. Styles first kicked off the NYC shows in late August after previously bringing the tour to Amsterdam, London, São Paulo and Mexico City.

Plus, Anna Wintour contributed an op-ed about Styles for the issue, urging him to come back soon to the Big Apple for a very different kind of extended stay.

“Here’s what I thought while watching Harry Styles at MSG: That man should be on Broadway,” the former Vogue editor in chief wrote for Village Voice. “Together, Together is exactly the sentiment that drives theater. Harry’s residency has brought joy and togetherness. New York loves him. If I could make one pitch: Singin’ in the Rain starring Harry Styles. It’s a part he was born to play. It would run until the end of time.”

Styles will now take some time off from his live shows before resuming in late November for a run of performances in Australia. Next year, he’ll bring Together, Together — which supports his Billboard 200-topping fourth studio album, Kiss All the Time. Disco, Occasionally — back for another run of shows in North America and Europe.
