KUALA LUMPUR, Sept 18 — Fresh off Malaysia Day, there was plenty to celebrate, with the festive mood also reflected on the entertainment front as local content made its presence felt across cinemas and streaming platforms. 

Chelot continues to lead the local box office, with its collection now reaching RM16 million, while Kudrat 1968: High Council shot to the top of Netflix Malaysia’s trending chart with only two episodes in.

Over on Viu, Cinta Dalam Sekam continues to hold the top spot on the platform’s chart.

Cinemas are offering a mix of trending titles from across Asia thats trending, with Hope receiving mixed reviews, while China’s All Wishes Come True and Once Upon a Time in the Middle East have been generating positive word-of-mouth among Malaysian audiences.

On Disney+, Futurama remains the platform’s leading title, while Indonesian singer Tulus’ Teh Hijau is among the most-streamed songs on Spotify.
