Milan rotate in the Europa League for a trip to RB Salzburg with Francesco Camarda, Adrien Rabiot and Omari Hutchinson, as the pressure is already on.
It kicks off at the Red Bull Arena in Salzburg at 17.45 UK time (18.45 CEST).
The Rossoneri had a disastrous start to the Europa League with a 2-0 home defeat to Benfica, so they are already feeling the pressure to get a result in Austria.
At the same time, coach Ruben Amorim needs to rotate the squad ahead of this weekend’s Serie A match against Atalanta.
Alexis Saelemaekers and Matteo Gabbia are long-term absentees, with Pietro Terracciano also on the treatment table.
Luka Modric, Goncalo Ramos and Mario Gila are among those rested, so Camarda gets his first start of the season, with support from Alphadjo Cisse, Ruben Loftus-Cheek and Hutchinson.
The team starts out with a three-man defence, but it can adjust to four at different times.
RB Salzburg had a winning start to the Europa League with a 1-0 victory away to Levski Sofia, decided by Haris Tabakovic.
The Austrians have played five UEFA games this season and are still unbeaten with four wins and a draw, keeping three consecutive clean sheets.
Goalkeeper Christian Zawieschitzky has recovered from an adductor issue, but the absentee list includes Justin Omoregie, Nikolas Veratschnig, Damir Redzic, Enrique Aguilar and Soumaila Diabaté.
Familiar faces include Napoli-owned winger Jesper Lindstrom.
These teams have met four times before, with three Milan victories and one stalemate.
