GOMBAK, Oct 19 — Fares for the East Coast Rail Link (ECRL) will start from as low as RM60 one way for Economy Transit services between Gombak and KotaSAS or Kota Sultan Ahmad Shah, Kuantan, Malaysia Rail Link Sdn Bhd (MRL) said today.

MRL chief executive officer Datuk Seri Darwis Abdul Razak said the decision for the pricing was approved by the Cabinet on October 16.

“The government approved the proposed passenger fares for the East Coast Rail Link (ECRL), based on an affordable and rakyat-friendly dynamic fare mechanism.

“The approval enables ECRL fares to be implemented flexibly, with Economy class Transit fares from Gombak to Kota Bharu starting from as low as RM125 one way, ahead of the targeted commercial operation of the ECRL in mid-December 2026,” Darwis told a press conference at the Gombak ECRL Terminal.
