The Member of Parliament for Bekwai, Ralph Poku-Adusei, has donated 100 bags of cement and GH¢5,000 towards the construction of an ultramodern palace at Ankaase in the Ashanti Region.

The contribution was made through his office during celebrations marking the 30th anniversary of the enstoolment of Nana Adomako-Ansa I as Ankaasehene and Kontihene of the Amoafo Traditional Area.

The event also marked the fifth anniversary of the enstoolment of the area’s Queen Mother and brought together traditional leaders, community members, teachers, students and other guests.

In a goodwill message, Mr Poku-Adusei described Nana Adomako-Ansa I as a fatherly and principled leader whose three decades of traditional leadership had contributed to Ankaase’s development.

He recalled first meeting the chief when he served as a registrar at the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology (KNUST), during the MP’s undergraduate years.

He commended the chief’s contribution to improvements in electricity supply, water provision, educational infrastructure, town planning and community facilities.

The lawmaker also highlighted the establishment of a Junior High School and a computer laboratory, noting that he was proud to have supported the completion of the laboratory.

Mr Poku-Adusei said his contribution to the palace project was intended to support Nana Adomako-Ansa I’s vision of leaving a lasting legacy for the people of Ankaase.

He called on traditional leaders to continue supporting and collaborating with him as he pursues his vision of making the Bekwai Constituency self-sufficient.

The MP congratulated Nana Adomako-Ansa I and the Queen Mother on their respective anniversaries, recognising their contributions to traditional leadership and community development.
