AFCON 2027Q: Al-Ittihad Celebrate Ilenikhena’s Maiden Super Eagles Goal

Saudi Arabian club Al-Ittihad have congratulated George Ilenikhena after the striker scored his maiden goal for the Super Eagles, Completesports.com reports.

Ilenikhena marked his Nigeria debut with a goal in the Super Eagles’ 2027 Africa Cup of Nations qualifying clash against Madagascar at the Godswill Akpabio International Stadium, Uyo, on Friday night.

Madagascar took a surprise lead in the 16th minute through Kari Eshan, who headed home a superb effort.

Ilenikhena, however, restored parity for Nigeria late in the first half with a composed finish.

Following his impressive debut, Al-Ittihad took to social media to celebrate their young striker.

“Congrats to our star George for his role in qualification to the CAF Cup 2027👏🇳🇬,” the Saudi club wrote on its X account.

The 20-year-old has enjoyed a strong start to the season, registering four goals and two assists in six league appearances for Al-Ittihad.
