PlayStation Plus is awash with an abundance of phenomenal games, ranging from the very greatest RPGs all the way to the most charming of indies. You'd be hard-pressed to come away from the platform having found nothing to enjoy, especially with just how much variety is on offer. However, with how much PS+ costs these days, and our already limited time seemingly dwindling faster than ever before, one must truly get their money's worth by playing only the very best games, at least for the most part.

Sure, it's fun to indulge in a fun yet average title every now and then, but for those who want to maximize their investment in the service, they'll want to hear exclusively about the very best games on PlayStation Plus. Fortunately, I have just the title: a game that, while very much a popular entity that has more than pierced the zeitgeist and become a cultural touchstone, nevertheless deserves to be spotlighted time after time, if only so that those in the back, and those just joining our wonderful hobby, can learn all about it.

This Is Truly One Of The Best Open-World RPGs On PlayStation Plus

With new games coming to PlayStation Plus all the time, many shrink-wrapped in the shiny veneer of novelty, it can be easy to overlook existing titles, especially if your sole aim is to experience as many games or, at the very least, the newer releases. However, while the latest games released on PS+ certainly are an attractive option, one mustn't veer too far away from the service's vast selection of older masterpieces, titles that may have already enjoyed a long stint on the platform and have started to gather dust.

Chief among these soon-to-be-considered relics is the truly exceptional and perhaps over-discussed open-world RPG, Cyberpunk 2077. It is unequivocally CD Projekt Red's magnum opus, its tight gunplay, stunning open world, philosophically dense narrative, litany of transformative updates, and beautifully written cast of characters making it a timeless epic that will almost assuredly enjoy an enduring legacy for quite some time.

It is also the type of game that has something for everyone, even should its neon-soaked setting or penchant for star-laden casts prove a turnoff for some. The narrative has the emotional highs and lows one would expect from a moving fable, JRPG, or cinematic blockbuster; its first-person shooting mechanics appeal to both the broadest audience and those eager for a little more strategy in their taking down of gang members, and its open-world, while admittedly seeped in cyberpunk tropes, is packed full of side content that will keep even the most active of players busy for quite some time.

Cyberpunk 2077 Will Always Be An Easy Recommendation

It is true that Cyberpunk 2077 has been discussed to death, a title so immediately recognizable that many, especially those who've already enjoyed it or those who're still sitting teetering on the proverbial fence, will elect to ignore any further recommendations to play it. However, while I am sure I could offer little more meaningful insight into exactly why Cyberpunk 2077 is considered to be one of the greatest open-world sci-fi games of all time, I do still feel it is worth mentioning that it is a title everyone should experience at least once.

Sure, there will be facets of its gameplay that simply do not appeal. Still, the experience of venturing out of your Megabuilding for the first time, soaking in the steam, sights, shuffling masses, and blaring sun presiding over the perpetually alive city as a final reminder of the only natural thing left in this warped and beautiful city, is a profoundly impactful one that is worth the price of admission alone. Of course, said price is utterly free should you opt to try it through PlayStation Plus, something that I, once again, highly recommend you do.

Even today, after numerous playthroughs of both the base game and its DLC, after having completed every main and side mission, grinded the NCPD Scanner Hustles, and blasted the heads off of as many foes as I could find, I long to return to Night City one more time, to cruise around, listening to music, and, inevitably, crashing into a rogue NPC that thinks leaping into the road is a smart choice. If you have PlayStation Plus, do yourself a favor and play Cyberpunk 2077.
