Minister of Foreign Affairs, International Cooperation and Egyptian Expatriates Badr Abdelatty said Egyptians living abroad represent an extension of their homeland and contribute their expertise and skills to enhancing Egypt’s image and standing internationally.

Abdelatty made the remarks during a meeting with members of the Egyptian community in Thailand on Tuesday, October 13, 2026, as part of his visit to Bangkok. The meeting was attended by Egyptian Ambassador to Thailand Hala Youssef.

The minister praised the role of Egyptians residing in Thailand in strengthening ties and communication between the two countries.

He reaffirmed the Foreign Ministry’s commitment to maintaining contact with Egyptian communities abroad, protecting their interests, addressing their needs and facilitating access to consular services.

In this regard, Abdelatty outlined the ministry’s efforts to modernize consular services and expand digital service delivery to simplify procedures and improve efficiency. He also highlighted initiatives for Egyptians abroad, including “Your Home in Egypt” and “Open Your Account in Egypt.”

The minister praised the Egyptian community’s participation in the seventh edition of the Conference of Egyptians Abroad, held in August 2026, and expressed hope that they would continue to participate actively in future editions.

He described the conference as a platform for direct dialogue and the exchange of views between Egyptians abroad and state institutions.

Abdelatty also listened to community members’ views and proposals on issues affecting their interests, stressing the importance of sustaining dialogue and developing communication channels to address their demands and aspirations.
