Vijay Sethupathi’s film Baththa was released in theaters on October 1. The film had limited pre-release buzz owing to a lack of promotions. However, once the film was released, it gained audience love and critical appreciation. Many described it as an emotional ride that leaves viewers overwhelmed. However, despite the glowing, unanimously positive reviews, the film’s box-office performance does not reflect that appreciation.

How Much Did Baththa Earn At The Box Office In 8 Days?

The film has wrapped up its opening week at the box office. Owing to its Thursday release, the Tamil movie enjoyed an eight-day opening week. Despite strong word-of-mouth and positive reviews, the film’s opening-week collections are not all that impressive.

On its second Thursday, the film earned Rs 1.34 crore net against 1,430 shows. The film had an occupancy rate of just 21% on the last day of its opening week.

Baththa‘s net total after eight days stands at Rs 15.42 crore, which equals Rs 18.19 crore gross in India. The film had a limited number of screenings during its opening week, with showings restricted to southern India. Owing to demand, the film will now be distributed in other parts of India as well.

Day-Wise Box Office Collection Of Baththa:

  • Day 1- 1.5 crore
  • Day 2- 2.7 crore
  • Day 3- 2.75 crore
  • Day 4- 3.1 crore
  • Day 5- 1.3 crore
  • Day 6- 1.4 crore
  • Day 7- 1.33 crore
  • Day 8- 1.34 crore

Why Baththa’s Opening Week Remains Unimpressive?

The Tamil action-comedy has earned nearly as much as Sardar 2 in its opening week. While Sardar 2 was a much more hyped film, it did not sustain being in the initial 2 days. The film had almost fizzled out at the box office in its opening week alone. Despite that, the film registered 15.21 crore in its opening week, which is only slightly less than Baththa’s 15.42 crore.
