49ers WR Demarcus Robinson will be sidelined with high ankle sprain
The San Francisco 49ers improved to 2-0 following their 35-13 win in Week 2 against the Miami Dolphins, but it wouldn't come without setbacks.
Wide receiver Demarcus Robinson suffered a lower leg injury in the 49ers' win Sunday, Sept. 20, leaving the game with 6:46 left in the second quarter. He didn't return to the game.

Robinson was carted off the field against the Dolphins after catching a 20-yard pass from quarterback Brock Purdy, who found a streaking Robinson wide open and delivered a 20-yard dart. Robinson caught the pass and went to the turf as he lost his footing trying to flip back up. He tweaked his ankle as he got up and attempted to continue running.
Niners head coach Kyle Shanahan told reporters on Monday that Robinson suffered a high ankle sprain and would be out for the next three to six weeks, likely landing him on the team's injured reserved list.
"Anytime it's a high ankle, we don't have a timeline, but just high ankles in general are anywhere from three weeks at the best, which is very rare, to six weeks," Shanahan said. "We'll see how it goes, but most likely will be an IR candidate here."

San Francisco has already taken blows in its receiver room. In Week 1, the 49ers lost Jake Tonges to a torn ACL, rookie De'Zhaun Stribling needed left ankle surgery following an erred misstep on a route leaving him out for 10 weeks.

Veteran receiver Mike Evans has a dinged hip, but Shanahan said it would be managed throughout the week.
Of course, in true 49ers football fashion, it's next man up. That means more opportunities for Jordan Watkins, Jacob Cowing and KhaDarel Hodge, who are next on the depth chart. Shanahan said they would not hold a tryout for receiver.
"We expect those guys to be up and everyone's got to get more involved," he said. "But, I know our guys, [president of football operations and general manager] John [Lynch] and his group, are working on all possibilities, looking at everything that's out there and our options here for this week and going forward."
"(KhaDarel Hodge) has been out there the last couple weeks. He had a catch yesterday later in the game and he made some key blocks versus the Rams. Pretty much all our guys who are up, we always mix them in on offense, but as you lose starters and stuff, those guys have to be able to do more and more," Shanahan added.
Two individuals who won't be asked to do more are Brandon Aiyuk and Daejon Love.
