Asian Games 2026: Manu Bhaker misses 10m air pistol medal, finishes fifth

Manu Bhaker finished fifth in the women’s 10m air pistol final at the Aichi-Nagoya Asian Games on Wednesday, missing out on an individual medal after entering the eight-shooter final in third place from qualification.
The double Olympic medallist shot 181.1 in the final. She opened with 50.8 and reached 100.3 after two series before progressing to 120.4, 140.4 and 160.7. Bhaker was eliminated in fifth place at 181.1.
South Korea’s Choo Gaeun won gold with 246.3, ahead of China’s Shen Yiyao (241.3) and Jiang Ranxin (221.6).
Bhaker shot 579-20x in qualification. At Paris 2024, she won bronze in the women’s 10m air pistol before adding another bronze in the 10m air pistol mixed team alongside Sarabjot Singh.
Earlier this year, Bhaker was part of India’s gold-winning women’s 10m air pistol team at the Asian Championships in New Delhi, though she finished seventh individually. She also won mixed-team silver with Samrat Rana at the Munich World Cup in May.
