Mike Sonko Adds Maserati Levante to His Expansive Luxury Car Collection

Former Nairobi Governor and philanthropist Mike Sonko has offered a glimpse of another luxury vehicle in his expansive collection after showcasing his white Maserati Levante SUV.

On September 18, 2026, Sonko shared a video on his official social media pages showing the Maserati at a car wash.

He appeared to joke about his passion for automobiles while showing off the luxury SUV.

“Sijui ni kwanini I’m in love with cars hivi. Hii ndio Maseratti nilijiletea car wash manenos.”

Sonko’s High-End Vehicle Fleet

Sonko has over the years become known for his collection of luxury vehicles, often displaying high-end SUVs, off-roaders and sports cars.

Among the vehicles associated with his fleet are two 2020 Cadillac Escalades, each powered by a 6.2-litre V8 engine paired with a 10-speed automatic transmission.

The Escalade is estimated to cost about KSh8 million, depending on the model and specifications.

Sonko previously attracted attention in July 2019 when he arrived at a Senate hearing in two Escalades, one black and the other white.

Japanese Off-Roaders and Custom Land Cruisers

His collection also includes several Japanese off-road vehicles, including a 2018 Lexus LX570.

The luxury SUV is powered by a 5.7-litre V8 engine producing 383 horsepower and offers 8.9 inches of ground clearance alongside five multi-terrain driving modes.

Depending on its specifications and customisation, the LX570 can cost upwards of KSh15 million.

Sonko has also showcased customised Toyota Land Cruiser 200 Series models, including gold-coloured Land Cruiser V8s.

The vehicles weigh approximately 2.7 tonnes and feature 4.5-litre V8 engines. Models manufactured between 2018 and 2020 can cost around KSh14 million, while custom paintwork can reportedly cost about KSh200,000.

His fleet also includes a 2018 Nissan Patrol fitted with a 5.6-litre V8 engine, 18-inch alloy wheels and an entertainment system featuring USB ports and screens built into the front head restraints.

Mercedes Convertible and Other Luxury Cars

For leisure driving, Sonko has also owned a 2018 Mercedes-Benz E-Class Cabriolet.

The convertible features a 3.0-litre bi-turbo V6 engine producing 329 horsepower and is paired with a nine-speed automatic transmission.

Its retractable soft-top roof can be folded away at the push of a button, with the model starting at approximately KSh6.7 million.

Other luxury vehicles associated with Sonko’s collection include Mercedes-Benz G-Wagons, a BMW i7 electric sedan, Porsche Cayenne, Hummer H2, Toyota Crown Athlete, as well as Range Rover Sport and Vogue models.

Sonko’s Vehicle Collection and Community Work

Sonko has previously made public disclosures about the scale of his vehicle ownership.

In May 2019, he displayed more than 100 vehicle logbooks during a live television broadcast.

At the time, he said most of the vehicles had been donated to his community organisation, the Sonko Rescue Team, which has been involved in various community initiatives.
