Free LRT-2 rides for National ID holders on Thursday, October 1

The Philippine Statistics Authority (PSA) on Wednesday announced that there will be free rides for National ID holders on Thursday, October 1 in celebration of National Statistics Month.

National Statistics Month is meant to raise awareness over the importance of statistics in policymaking and designing programs, according to Mark Pascasio, an Assistant National Statistician from the Macroeconomic Account Service of the PSA.

“Magkakaroon din ng Libreng Sakay sa LRT. Gagamitin niyo lang yung inyong National ID, pwede na kayo sumakay sa LRT-2 specifically,” Pascasio said on the Bagong Pilipinas Ngayon public briefing.

(There will be free rides for the LRT. Just use your National ID, you can ride the LRT-2 specifically.)

According to a separate Facebook post from the PSA, interested riders could just present their National ID card, National ID in paper format or the Digital National ID and avail of the free ride.

The free rides will be available during peak hours, from 7:00 a.m. to 9:00 a.m., and then once more from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m.

As part of the month-long celebration, Pascasio also said that there will be a series of webinars to discuss different topics, from statistics in tourism and the use of statistics in local governance. —RF, GMA News
