The House of Representatives on Monday approved, on the third and final reading, the proposed P7.2 trillion national budget for fiscal year 2027 under House Bill No. 10858.

The House plenary voted to approve the House version of the General Appropriations Bill (GAB) with 281 yes votes, 13 no votes, and one abstention.

On Thursday, the lower chamber passed its version of GAB on second reading, highlighting its “people-centered” and “Super El Niño-ready” nature.

However, several lawmakers questioned the budgetary changes, including the “lack of transparency” of the proposed increases by the Budget Amendments Review Subcommittee (BARSc). —LDF, GMA News
