Talia Ryder, Elizabeth Marvel & Bill Camp Join STX & Aggregate’s True-Crime Thriller ‘PRƎPPY’

Translate

EXCLUSIVE: Talia Ryder (Never Rarely Sometimes Always) is set for a third lead role opposite Kit Connor and Diana Silvers in PRƎPPY, the true-crime flick from STX Entertainment and Aggregate Films that we recently scooped. Also newly aboard the film, helmed by Janicza Bravo, are Presumed Innocent‘s Elizabeth Marvel and Bill Camp.

Character details are being kept under wraps, other than the fact that Marvel and Camp — a pair of decorated, married actors — will portray a married couple. Production is now underway in Manhattan.

Based on an original screenplay by David Levine and Rose Lichter-Marck, PRƎPPY explores the summer of 1986 leading to the murder of recent high school graduate Jennifer Levin at the hands of Robert Chambers, a former Manhattan private-school student, in New York’s Central Park. The shocking crime — in which Chambers was dubbed the “Preppy Killer” — captivated a generation and put privilege, class and sex on trial.

Jason Bateman, Michael Costigan and John Buderwitz are producing for Aggregate, alongside Peter Coleman and Paula Manzanedo for STX, and Bravo.

Best known for her breakout performance in Eliza Hittman’s Focus drama Never Rarely Sometimes Always, which brought her both an Independent Spirit Award and a Critics’ Choice Award nomination, Ryder most recently wrapped a lead role opposite Mark Eydelshteyn in the second season of Prime Video’s Mr. & Mrs. Smith. Before that, she and Michael Shannon wrapped on a contemporary reimagining of horror classic The Cabinet of Dr. Caligari. Ryder just signed on for a role opposite Tom Holland in his Fred Astaire biopic for Sony. Her films next up for release are Frankie Shaw’s 4 Kids Walk Into a Bank and Rob Burnett’s In Memoriam. She is represented by LBI Entertainment, UTA, and Vainshtein Law, P.C.

Coming off roles in Steven Spielberg’s Disclosure Day and Apple’s acclaimed legal thriller Presumed Innocent, Marvel is repped by Verve, Viking Entertainment, and Franklin, Weinrib, Rudell & Vassallo.

A Tony, two-time Emmy and SAG Award nominee, Camp co-starred opposite Marvel in Presumed Innocent‘s first season. Next up, he returns to Apple with a role opposite Liev Schreiber, Zazie Beetz, and Stephen Graham in Nocturne, a crime thriller series premiering October 30. He is repped by UTA and Franklin, Weinrib, Rudell & Vassallo, P.C.
