KUALA LUMPUR, Sept 19 — Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim today flagged off the Malaysia Sarong Music Run 2026 in front of the Petronas Twin Towers here.

Speaking at the event, Anwar thanked participants of all ages and backgrounds for joining the run and helping promote healthy living in the community.

“Women and men are committed to staying fit, looking after our health and taking care of our beloved Malaysia. Come on, let’s run together in our sarongs!” he said briefly before flagging off the event.

Also present were Communications Minister Datuk Seri Fahmi Fadzil and Tourism, Arts and Culture Minister Datuk Seri Tiong King Sing.

Dressed in sportswear and wearing a sarong sash, Anwar later joined participants on a three-kilometre walk.
