Teen in England saves mom using AI; says he had a Hugh Laurie ‘House' moment

Oxfordshire teen comments on how he felt as if he were in the hit TV show 'House ' and talks about how he used an AI chatbot to save his mother's life. (Instagram)

Earlier this year, two sons helped save their mother's life using an AI chatbot. In England, Oxfordshire resident Edward Patrick opened up about the ordeal and what happened when doctors could not diagnose the cause of his mother's seizures.

He and his brother used AI and even compared their overall experience to the popular TV show, 'House.' Read ahead to know more about what happened.

While talking to The Sunday Times, Edward commented that he felt like he was in the hit medical drama 'House,' comparing the incident to having a "house moment,” citing the popular show where the leading doctor often uses unconventional methods to save his patients' lives.

He added that his brother had initially been the one who suggested that the vitamin deficiency could be the issue, further adding, “There’s no other way of describing it.

” Patrick further explained, “Every time I tell the story, I feel like, ‘Am I making this up?’ To come from the jaws of death. She only had hours [left to live].”

Patrick detailed what he and his brother did when doctors could not diagnose their mother's condition.

He revealed that he input all of her symptoms as well as all of the medical scans that he could get his hands on into the AI chatbot. In reply, the chatbot informed him about a common vitamin deficiency that was directly tied to her Parkinson’s medication. Following the diagnosis provided by AI and an infusion of vitamin B6 ultimately stopped the seizures completely.He also explained to the outlet that his mother had been suffering from a life-threatening issue known as rhabdomyolysis.

According to reports from Cleveland Clinic, it is a “rare muscle injury where your muscles break down. This is a life-threatening condition that can happen after an injury or excessive exercise without rest.”Ann, their mother, also talked about the incident to the outlet, saying that she still cannot believe what happened. “I just can’t get over that such a small thing can make such a large difference to whether you live or die.

I’m a proud mom, absolutely," she commented.
