Prabowo dismisses Listyo, names Ariyo as Presidential Chief of Staff

Jakarta (ANTARA) - President Prabowo Subianto has dismissed Listyo Sigit Prabowo from his position as Presidential Chief of Staff (KSP) and appointed Lieutenant General Ariyo Windutomo as Acting Chief of Staff, Minister of State Secretary Prasetyo Hadi confirmed on Wednesday.
"This morning, the president has made a decision and signed a Presidential Decree regarding the dismissal of Listyo Sigit Prabowo as Presidential Chief of Staff," Hadi said at the Presidential Palace in Jakarta on Wednesday.
According to Prasetyo, Prabowo appointed Ariyo, who currently heads the Presidential Secretariat, to temporarily serve as acting Presidential Chief of Staff to ensure continuity.
Prasetyo said the decision came after several individuals were named suspects in cases involving alleged illegal wiretapping, deletion of electronic evidence, and unauthorized access to the head of state's communications and those of several other leaders and public figures.
One of the suspects in the case serves as the Presidential Chief of Staff, requiring consequences for his position, he continued.
"On his behalf, the president once again expressed his profound concern regarding these developments," Prasetyo noted.
Earlier, the National Police Criminal Investigation Agency named three police officers, including Listyo, ASN, and EH, as suspects for alleged illegal wiretapping, deletion of electronic data, and illegal access.
The Head of the National Police Criminal Investigation Agency, Commissioner General Asep Safrudin, on Tuesday (November 3), said the three were named as suspects after questioning several witnesses and confiscating several pieces of evidence.
The suspects allegedly intercepted their targets' telephone numbers without authorization since 2025. The operation reportedly continued into 2026, Safrudin added.
After being named as suspects, the three were detained at the National Police Headquarters detention center in Jakarta.
