The friendly match between India and Uruguay in Kolkata on Tuesday was temporarily halted during the first half.

The game was stopped after 26 minutes, shortly following the hydration break, after lightning strikes were reported near the Salt Lake Stadium.

As per FIFA safety protocols, the players have to leave the field of play in such situations. The play can only resume after 30 minutes have passed since the last reported lightning strike.

The match was level at 1-1 after Anirudh Thapa equalised in the 22nd minute for India. Darwin Nunez had got the visitor ahead from the spot.
