Manchester City defeated 10-man Liverpool 3-0 at Anfield on Sunday to maintain its perfect start to the Premier League season.

After a goalless first half, the contest turned in the 62nd minute when Liverpool midfielder Ryan Gravenberch was sent off for a second booking.

Erling Haaland broke the deadlock three minutes later, before substitute Jeremy Doku doubled City’s advantage in the 68th minute with a curling finish.

Rayan Cherki added a third in the 78th minute to complete a convincing away victory for Enzo Maresca’s side.

Liverpool, already without injured forwards Alexander Isak and Cody Gakpo, struggled to respond after going down to 10 men.
