Korea Artiz Studio taken to court for alleged non-payment of employees’ CPF contributions

SINGAPORE – A bridal studio that was recently closed has been taken to court by the Central Provident Fund (CPF) Board for allegedly not paying the CPF contributions of its employees.

It had detected “non-payment of CPF contributions when (Korea Artiz Studio) failed to make payment by the deadline in July 2026”, the board, the Ministry of Manpower and Tripartite Alliance for Dispute Management (TADM) said in a joint statement on Aug 28.

Also, the MOM is investigating the studio for possible offences on non-payment of salaries, while TADM is arranging for mediation, after it received salary claims from five of the studio’s employees between Aug 10 and Aug 18.

An Aug 14 notice at the entrance of the studio, located in Carlton Hotel near Raffles City Shopping Centre, said its staff had closed the premises after their salaries were not paid and they could not contact the company’s management.

The premises were subsequently repossessed by the hotel on Aug 20.

MOM, CPF Board and TADM said in the statement that they will continue to assist the workers with their salary and CPF arrears.

“We would like to remind employers of their obligations to pay salaries and CPF contributions on time to their employees,” the organisations added.

They added that employees in Singapore who are not paid salaries on time can file their claims with TADM at tal.sg/tadm/contact-us. TADM will assist these workers in recovering their salaries either through mediation or referring the case to the Employment Claims Tribunals.
