Abia Governor Alex Otti has urged Igbo traders to shift from conventional trading to manufacturing and digital commerce. Speaking at an Igbo Day event, he said, “We are leaving that level of trading” and moving towards production and technology-driven commerce.

A Lagos teenager who was remanded in 2022 after allegedly being arrested over slippers similar to those worn by a complainant has regained his freedom. Citizens Gavel said the prosecution failed to produce a witness, while the court eventually upheld a No Case Submission and discharged and acquitted the teenager and another defendant.

4. El-Rufai’s son thanks Obi for support during father’s detention

In an interview, Bello El-Rufai thanked Peter Obi for repeatedly checking on his father, Nasir, while the former Kaduna governor remained in ICPC custody. Bello said Obi’s calls were a lesson to him because he had previously been critical of the former Anambra governor.

5. Dangote says he’s ready for court cases over Kenya refinery

Aliko Dangote said his group was prepared to face legal challenges over its planned 700,000-barrel-per-day refinery in Kenya. A Kenyan court has ordered the status quo on the land to be maintained until an October 14 hearing, while Dangote said, “Anyone who wants to cause trouble, we are ready for them.”

6. Senate, Reps extend 2025 capital budget implementation to December
