Drake Twists Unreleased ‘FOMO’ Lyric With Behind-the-Scenes Photos From Short Film

A week after FOMO‘s arrival, Drake released a bunch of photos from behind the scenes of the short film, which he posted to Instagram on Tuesday (Sept. 22).

“Weird hill to die on but at least you’re gone,” he captioned the photo dump. The lyric was twisted and pulled from a subliminal shot heard in one of the unreleased tracks heard in Fear of Missing Out, which fans have tentatively titled “Free” since it uses Drake’s “I just wanna be free” chorus from ICEMAN‘s “Make Them Pay.”

“Funny, y’all gon’ die up on this hill/ This s–t hilarious,” he raps without identifying his opposition.

The pictures in the post are from an assortment of scenes, including him hanging out with his “goth baddie” Pinkchyu, rocking the Iron Man suit, taking a ride on the Leviathan roller coaster and more.

“RAZORS EDGE,” rapper Reese LaFlare wrote, while comparing Drake’s new look to ’90s wrestler Razor Ramon (Scott Hall).

“Free” caused a frenzy on social media when played during the final credits of FOMO, as some OVO fans believed he could be talking to rival Kendrick Lamar.

“They tell me that my circle getting small huh/ But b—h we from the Dot, you can’t compare to us/ F–k all that circle s–t, I’m squaring up,” he raps.

FOMO featured collaborations with Don Toliver, PartyNextDoor and Yeat, in addition to visuals from HABIBTI and MAID OF HONOUR tracks.

Following his May trifecta of albums, which made Drake the first artist to fill the Billboard 200’s top three slots simultaneously, the 6 God is staying busy. He confirmed in an interview following FOMO‘s premiere that he’ll be hitting the road again for a world tour in 2027.
