With the first trailer for Boston Blue season 2 finally out, CBS has made it abundantly clear that they won't be revealing anything about Jamie joining the series, at least when it comes to previews or promotions. Though Estes has shared that he'll be on the series on social media, the trailer takes a look at the next chapter of Danny's story in Boston without mentioning his extended family. Instead, the trailer highlights Danny's continued work in the city, including his partnership with Lena Silver (Sonequa Martin-Green), as well as the fallout from Boston Blue season 1's surprising cliffhanger ending.

While the trailer makes it clear that there are larger stakes for Boston Blue season 2, leaving Jamie out of the equation is a surprise, especially for those in the know that he'll be returning for the upcoming season. While Estes will be making a guest appearance on Boston Blue sometime in the upcoming season rather than joining in full-time, the fact that Jamie isn't featured in any of the promotional material for the show is somewhat confusing. With very little understanding of what will bring Jamie to Boston Blue or how long he'll stick around, the details will surely be exciting.
