‘The Hunting Wives’ Lands Early Season 3 Renewal at Netflix

The Hunting Wives have hit their mark — and landed an early renewal.

The Netflix series from Rebecca Cutter starring Malin Akerman and Brittany Snow, who lead a cutthroat yet soapy set of Texas housewives, has nabbed a season three renewal ahead of season two’s return. Season two, which was announced in September, returns Thanksgiving Day (Nov. 26) with the original (surviving) cast reprising their roles.

The third season will be another eight episodes, with a release date and cast yet to be announced.

The Hunting Wives, adapted by showrunner Cutter from the bestselling novel of the same name by May Cobb, became a 2025 summer sensation for Netflix when it released season one.

“I’m so stoked to be heading back to Maple Brook, and I promise that once you’ve finished season two, you’ll be desperate to see what happens next. Buckle up, because season three will be even more scandalous and twisted,” Cutter said on Wednesday in a statement about the early renewal.

Cutter’s statement implies that similar to season one, season two could also end on a cliffhanger. (Snow has already teased a big death to come.)

The sexy and binge-y thriller, which was originally developed for Starz, is a Lionsgate Television and 3 Arts Entertainment production and will release both season two and three on the streamer as a Netflix-branded series. Producers pivoted the series to Netflix in the lead up to Starz’s official split from Lionsgate and released The Hunting Wives weeks later, on July 21. It became the most-viewed streaming series in the U.S. and spent six weeks in Nielsen’s top 10 chart of streaming originals.

Created by writer/showrunner/EP Cutter (Hightown), Hunting Wives is also executive produced by Erwin Stoff for 3 Arts Entertainment and Cobb.
