Hollywood actor Jim Carrey has married his "sublime companion" in a secret wedding ceremony

The Bruce Almighty actor, 64, has married his longtime girlfriend, Min Ah, seven months after making their first official red carpet appearance at the César Awards in Paris, where he called her his "sublime companion".

TMZ first reported the couple had tied the knot in a small private ceremony in Los Angeles, California, and Carrey's spokesperson confirmed the couple have indeed wed.

Not much more so far is known about the pair’s nuptials. The couple are believed to have started dating in February 2022 after they were photographed leaving a charity event together in LA.

While accepting the lifetime achievement gong for his work, the Honorary César Award, in February this year, Carrey thanked his “wonderful” family and his “sublime companion", Min Ah, in a romantic speech, which he delivered entirely in French.

“I love you, Min Ah,” he said at the time.

Carrey was previously married to his Dumb and Dumber co-star Lauren Holly, from 1996–1997 and to Melissa Womer from 1987–1995, whom he shares one child together, daughter Jane Erin Carrey, 39.

The Ace Ventura: Pet Detective star is renowned for keeping his personal life strictly private, however he hinted that he was ready to settle down again. During an April 2022 interview with Access Hollywood to discuss his role in Sonic the Hedgehog 2, the comedian joked that he might quit acting to enjoy his “quiet life".

When asked by host Kit Hoover if he was being serious, Carrey replied: "I’m being fairly serious."

"It depends," he explained. "If the angels bring some sort of script that’s written in gold ink, that says to me that it’s going to be really important for people to see, I might continue down the road. But I’m taking a break."

He said he’d grown to enjoy his life away from the spotlight, preferring to spend his time with his family and painting.

"I really like my quiet life, and I really love putting paint on canvas, and I really love my spiritual life, and I feel like — and this is something you might never hear another celebrity say as long as time exists – I have enough," he said.
