Group slams vlogger’s cruelty to dogs over damaged slippers
MANILA, Philippines — The Animal Kingdom Foundation (AKF) condemned what it described as the cruel treatment of two dogs that allegedly destroyed expensive slippers.
In a statement on Monday, Sept. 14, the AKF said videos posted by a vlogger had drawn public outrage after the individual reportedly called for the “capture” and “killing” of the two dogs.
“One dog was seen being inhumanely captured, while the other escaped,” the group said.

The AKF acknowledged that damage to someone’s property was unacceptable but stressed that “property damage does not automatically justify taking an animal’s life.”

“We can protect our property without cruelty. We can be angry without becoming violent toward animals,” it said, calling on the public not to support vloggers who mistreat animals.
“When a person has a public platform, that influence carries responsibility. Statements made publicly can encourage others to view the killing of animals as an acceptable response to inconvenience or property damage,” the group said.
The AKF said it was investigating the incident and seeking assistance from concerned government agencies. /gsg
